MICKEY MOUSE!!!!

I don't know why but lately I have been liking doing research. So for a blog I thought I would research Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse is my moms favorite Disney character! I like Mickey too but he isn't my FAVORITE. I know it is kind of long but you should defiantly read it! It is awesome!!!

NOTE**I DID NOT WRITE THIS**

Walter Elias Disney was born in the year of 1901. When he was just a boy, his family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he attended classes at Benton Grammar School. Disney later enrolled at McKinley High School in Chicago, Illinois. He also went on to take night classes at the Chicago Institute of Art.
When his education was complete, Walt Disney moved back to Kansas City to work as a commercial artist. Disney found himself creating animated shorts at many different studios.
window.google_render_ad();
Finally, in 1923, The Walt Disney Company was formed in Los Angeles, California. Within the same year, Walt joined forces with his brother Roy, and Disney Brothers Studio came to be. The Disney Studio created many memorable characters, but probably the most popular, would be a lovable black and white mouse.
Disney's first creation was a cartoon character that he named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. This rabbit realized some popularity, but Walt Disney still kept up his search for the right character he wanted. And, it was in 1928, when Walt Disney took a five-day train trip with his wife Lillian, that he came up with the idea of a cartoon mouse named Mortimer. It is said that Disney actually fashioned the mouse after Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Whatever the case, his wife rejected the name of the mouse, and Disney ended up changing it from Mortimer to Mickey. When they arrived in California, Disney worked friend Ub Iwerks on creating Mickey Mouse. He made his debut on November 18, 1928, in a black and white cartoon called "Steamboat Willie." It was a talking picture, and Mickey Mouse said his first words, "Hot dog!"
It is interesting to note that Mickey Mouse started out as an impish, mischievous character that played a cow's teeth like a xylophone in his first movie. He also performed other nasty little tasks as well. This image was soon changed, though, in order that he would appeal to a much wider audience.
One of the most noticeable physical differences between the first Mickey Mouse and his modern day appearance include the addition of white gloves on his hands. There were many other changes as he evolved over the years, though.
Today, Mickey Mouse is normally dressed in red shorts with two buttons on the front, large yellow shoes, and his trademark white gloves. He sports a bulbous black nose, and he has large eyes. The only similiarities he has to a real mouse are his large mouse ears, and his long, skinny tail. Other than those features, Mickey Mouse has his own distinctive look.
Mickey's character has changed too, as today, he represents a childlike goodness, and he is well known for his innocent charm. Mickey would never be caught doing anything that was nasty or mischievous now, as he did in his earlier days.
Mickey Mouse rose up in stardom quickly, and he soon became a comic book character in 1930 when he starred in his first adventure that was called, "Lost on a Desert Island." Walt Disney wrote the comic strip while Ub Iwerks did the drawings. A man by the name of Floyd Gottfredson eventually took Iwerks' job iver, and he continued to draw Mickey Mouse and his friends for years to come.
Mickey soon acquired a girlfriend, a mouse named Minnie, and two nephews named Morty and Ferdie, and a dog named Pluto was also added to the family.
Over twenty years after his "birth", the first official Mickey Mouse Club, which starred the Mouseketeers, made its television debut on July 17, 1955. The original Mouseketeers were Sharon Baird, Bobby Burgess, Lonnie Burr, Tommy Cole, Annette Funicello, Darlene Gillespie, Cubby O'Brien, Karen Pendleton, and Doreen Tracey. Even if you are not old enough to remember the show, you probably have heard the club's theme song. Part of it goes, "Come along and sing a song, and join the jamboree, M-I-C-K-E-Y
M-O-U-S-E!"
The small mouse that Walt Disney brought to life went on to star in over one hundred movies. He is also the star in Disney's many theme parks, and his image is recognized around the world. Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London, England even has a wax figure of Mickey Mouse playing the piano.
In December of 1966, after a lifetime of animation work, Walt Disney lost his battle with lung cancer. He was just sixty-five years old. He was buried in Glendale, California, with a private ceremony. During his long career, Walt Disney had managed to win an astounding number of awards and honors for his work.
As for Mickey Mouse, he still magically lives on with his friends---Minnie Mouse, Morty, Ferdie, Pluto, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Maxie, and the many, many others that were created by Disney and his company. Mickey Mouse's likeness or image is often seen on tee shirts, ball caps, slacks, signs, toys, decorative plates, and more.
Now, when you see the famous Mickey Mouse, you can remember the man behind his success.

I didn't have a birthday poarty just becuase I didn't really want one but I did go to Savannah with Olivia and Stephanie which is my **""big sister""** and of course you know Olivia is my best friend. We went walking on Riverstreet and we went and played PutPut and then ate at Ruby Tuesdays. Olivia spent the night after that! I would have invited Stephanie too but she's 18 so I kind of figured she wouldnt want to stay up all night with 2 12 year olds, but we had fun anyways.

;-)

I hate writing blogs now because nobody comments on them. Oh and when people don't comment then you don't know if people read it and if people don't read it then what the point of writing?

I got a new case and a memory card for my phone today! I love it because I can put music on my phone now! Aaron got a new phone. It's really cool!

We got a new washer and dryer and they are amazing! They are front loaders so I can watch the cloths being washed and it is so cool!

We had Ian's birthday party last week and we all had so much fun!! I would post pictures but that's to aggravating and my mother posted pictures on the school blog so you can so them there. I think everybody who reads my blogs read the school blog so you probably already seen the pictures!

My birthday is exactly 1 week from today! I already told y'all what I was doing instead of a party so that going to be Saturday. I'm so excited! Mama will take pictures of course and then probably put them on the blog but it might be like in April sometime before she puts them up because we always tend to be late putting pictures up on there so you will see them sometime. Wow! That was like the longest sentence I've written. That was really random. Oh well. That's Kristen for you!

Oh and today is exactly 1 month from Mrs.Allison and her crew are coming down. That going to be lots of fun also! We are going to different places that are super fun to go to!

Well I think that's all for right now so comment please!!!!!

Hello again! I'm so excited about my birthday this month! I'm not going to have a party just because I don't really want one I guess. I am going to do something though. I'm going to have just me, my "sister" Olivia and my "older sister" Stephanie. We are going to get a pedicure and then go out to eat at a really nice restaurant then go to the mall!! It's going to be so much fun! I can't wait! Ian's birthday is next week and he's going to have a Pirate birthday! That's going to be fun to! Other than our birthdays nothing is really going on. Just normal school days. Mrs. Alison from Massachusetts is coming down to stay and visit in April so I'm excited about that too! This was a short post but I don't know what to write about!

The Red Rose Box

I just finished a really good book the other night. I went up to my bed to read and I ended up finishing it. It had 22 chapters and when I went to read in my bed I was on chapter 8!!, so I read 14 chapters in 2 hours! I was so excited that I read that much! That's the longest I have ever read in my entire life at one time!!! Here is a short summery about the book!

This story takes place in 1953 during segregation and all that stuff.

There was a little girl named Leah who lived with her mom and grandma. She got a present from her Aunt Olivia who was her moms only sister. They haven't talked since before Leah was born. In the box Leah got a bunch of stuff and her mom got a letter in the box to. Next thing you know she was on a train going to her Aunts house in California where there weren't any "whites only" signs. After they had visited and went home Leah's mother got another letter from her sister Olivia and she wanted Leah and her sister Ruth to come with them to New York.

When Leah and Ruth were up in New York a hurricane hit Leah's house and killed her mother and father. Leah and Ruth now have to live with her Aunt Olivia. So what happens next?

National Pancake Day!!

Yes, There is a national pancake day. I didn't know that until I woke up this morning and my mom told me and my brother! My brother made pancakes and I am now eating them. Here is the hitory of national pancake day!

****NOTE**** *I DID NOT WRITE THIS! I GOT IT OFF OF http://www.chevroncars.com/learn/holidays-seasons/pancake-day**

Many people love to eat warm pancakes covered with butter and syrup in the morning. But did you know that there is actually a holiday where people celebrate and eat pancakes with their families and friends? It is a tradition that started many years ago in England.

Pancake Day is celebrated on Shrove Tuesday which is the day before Lent. Lent is a Christian holiday that was established in the 4th century as 40 days and is generally a period of fasting or other forms of self-denial. People generally eat a lot and have fun the day before Lent begins. Shrove Tuesday is often referred to as Pancake Day because fats, which were generally prohibited during Lent, had to be used up. People would take all the eggs and dairy products that they had left in their kitchens and use them to make delicious pancakes.
In the United Kingdom of Great Britian, Northern Ireland and several other countries around the world, Pancake Day is celebrated with fun, games, and of course a lot of eating. However, the most well known activity on this day is the Pancake Day race at Olney in Buckinghamshire, England which has been held since 1445. It all began when a woman was cooking pancakes on Shrove Tuesday to use up all of her perishables before Lent. While she was still cooking she heard the chiming of the bells summoning her to church. Not wanting to be late, the woman ran to church with her apron on and the frying pan still in her hand. Little did she know that this would start a tradition that would be around for over 500 years!
Only women are allowed to participate in this race. They must run a designated path with a frying pan and end up at the church. They must have a hot pancake in the frying pan which they must flip at least three times before they complete the race. The first woman to complete the race and arrive at church with the pancake is declared the winner. She then serves the pancake to the bellringer and is rewarded with a kiss from the bellringer called the “Kiss of peace”. This race still occurs in England and in several other cities.

Working at ♥God's Mission House♥.........

...makes me feel so happy!! GMH is a place where people who don't have money can come here and get food, clothing, school uniforms, school supplies, and medicine but while helping the family's out they spread the Gospel! It used to be in a very small barn(we had very little room to walk back and fourth). In the past year or so volunteers have built us a new building that is HUGE!!! We have so much space now! We have an actual office now and the big supply room where we pack orders for the customers and everything! We(as in the MH(mission house) workers) got everything moved from the old MH to the new MH over the past couple of weeks! The opening day was Monday and Olivia and I went up there Sunday after church and packed orders! (when I talk about like 1 and 2 orders that just means 1 or 2 in the family) We did I think 20 1&2 orders, 15 3&4 orders and 10 5&6 orders. When me and Olivia went back up there today(Tuesday) Mrs.Linda and Mr. Ernie(the Owners) told us that they ended having to make more orders so many families came! That is INCREDIBLE!!!! What a blessing that was! I love going up there to make orders! When I come home from there I feel so happy to know that I have Helped so many families!

It was in the newspaper! I'm excited about it all! To see pictures click Here http://new.savannahnow.com/node/670375. There are only three pictures. The last one is me and Olivia. The first one is Mrs.Linda and Mr.Ernine cutting the ribbon. The second one is Mrs.Lindas mama who owned it until she died. :-(

;-D

Oh the fun of school! Today we went to co-op and came home and did school. I, today did a good amount of school. The other siblings didn't. Well Aaron is right next to me snoring (We have to get up early for co-op) so he hasn't done anything, and Momo only did like 3 things maybe?!?! This is my last thing and then I am done!!

I am going to small group tonight and I'm so excited!! Why? Because Small group is like the best thing in the world!! We are going to watch the end of Facing the Giants and then do the review or study on it. I'm excited!! I'm actually planning/wanting to go early so I can hang out with Chandler before every one gets there!!

@(*_*)@ (that's a monkey) HAHA!

HHMMMM??? What to write about? Yep, that's right. This is another school post. I hate when you have nothing to write about. Umm?

Right now I am doing a book study on Little House in the Big Woods and so far it's pretty good. I'm only on like the 2nd chapter so I really don't know what I can write about it but I am about to go read it because that would be the next subject on our loop schedule.

I know something! At our church me and Olivia helped in the 3 and 4 year old class and the teacher asked us to be like official helpers and me and her are going to be in charge of crafts and we are like super excited! The only thing is that I really don't know what crafts to do. We will probably get online and find something though.

That was really random. I am going to eat lunch now. Hopefully that was a long enough post!

Small Group PJ Night!!

Ok, so I go to a middle school girls Small group and it's every Monday night, well we had a PJ night last night and had SO much fun! We watched Facing the Giants and there was like 5 mins. left in the movie and Stephanie(Stephanie and Lauren are the leaders, but there are some adult leaders too. Lauren is my best friend's (Olivia) older sister.) stopped the movie. Right when they were about to stat the game! She left us hanging!! She had to stop the movie because some of the girls parents were already here. We are going to finish watching it next week along with a quiz from it. We stopped the movie and went downstairs and got all our stuff together and went home. I ride with Mrs.Lisa (my neighbor) to small group every night so she was talking to Mrs.Kristen(we have small group at her house. Her daughter is Chandler which I will be talking about in just a second! Haha) and so it was Olivia♥, Anna♥, Chandler♥(My best friends EVER!!) and me!! We went up to Chandler's room and who knew how many memories you can make in 10 mins!! It was so much fun!

I don't know what to write now so yea!

:D

Hi there! Yesterday(Monday) I went over to my best friend's I mean sister's house and we just hung out and all that. Well she has woods in her backyard and me and her LOVE going out in the woods and climbing trees and all that fun stuff. This was my first time going back there with her so she had to show me all the trail and the best trees to climb and all that. When she showed me "her" tree I immediately went to climb it! As soon as I got in the tree it became "our" tree!!!! We must have sat there and talked for about 2 hours!!! We took so many pictures together in that tree!! One of the pictures poses that we took we were laying on the tree(This was a weird shaped tree!?!?) and she fell out of the tree!! It was so funny! Not at the fact that she fell but the way she fell!! The tree wasn't far from the ground so she didn't really get hurt but she did scrape her back. Oh, and i never mentioned but her name is Olivia. Sorry about that. Anyways, I am so thankful to have her as my best friend!

You can tell that this post was for school so I had to think about what I was typing. I would've put "lol" at the end of that sentence but my dearest mother doesn't want any of text talk on this blog. Well then.

Oh yeah and I took all the pictures with my phone so I can't put them on here. Well I can I just don't know how to.
